The Ecological Restoration for Community Livelihoods Project (ERECOL) is an environmental conservation initiative implemented by Kasa Initiative Ghana to strengthen the resilience of the Keta Lagoon Ramsar Site against climate change through nature-based solutions.

The project focuses on restoring degraded mangrove ecosystems, promoting sustainable conservation practices, and improving community livelihoods through environmental education, green livelihood dialogues, and volunteer engagement. Working with local communities and partners, ERECOL supports long-term ecosystem restoration while empowering residents to protect and sustainably manage their natural resources.

Project Objectives

  • 1. Contribute to Improving the general resilience of the Keta Lagoon Complex Ramasr site to climate change impacts through mangrove vegetation restoration actions (nature based solutions).
  • 2. Increase community support for sustainable conservation actions through knowledge and experience sharing on the ecological importance of mangroves.
